The second week of our monitoring for 2020 is about to begin. Just like last year, around 1000 fields across Germany are being sampled again for resistant grass weeds and weeds. We particularly want to re-sample fields that were already added to our database in 2019. This helps us to better evaluate the development of weed and weed stocks. There we can see where resistance has continued to build up resp. how farmers manage weed pressure despite resistance. These findings will help us to provide more targeted and company-specific recommendations on resistance management for farmers in Germany. So far we have collected samples in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg. However, sampling of the grain stocks will continue until mid-June. So far it has been shown that the redroot pressure is high again, but we can also observe an increase in brome. A differentiated picture of the situation in the individual regions and cultures will only be possible in a couple of weeks.
If a farmer suspects resistances on his fields, he can of course also collect samples and send them to us independently. We will then analyze them professionally and economically. Additional information regarding the order process of a resistance test can be found at this link:
